I wouldn't be too sure of that. If we left Afghanistan, the Taliban would roll in and retake the country in short order. While not a good thing, we have to weigh that against a cost of close to a trillion dollars over the next ten years, if we decide we want to up our commitment by 40K troops and pacify that country. Frankly, I don't think it is worth it. I'd rather take care of things from the air with drones and jets and bring our troops home. We have bigger fish to fry right here at home, where we sorely need some nation building.
