I understand the altruistic ideals and everything, but the "courts" have always played a significant part in any real social change and without political power you have NO real influence on the court's structure. "best thing we can do is use our power of numbers to bring the blue dogs into line" The numbers the "blue dogs" are looking at are the poll numbers in their own states and districts. If they were to pass a GIGANTIC BILL like this through reconciliation then they'd have to HOPE that they never got back into the minority because if they did they'd have every bill shoved down THEIR throats by a mere 51 votes from then on.
