Krugman is in this camp, which is why we saw articles from him about how our gov't needed to employ Keynsian economics to draw up these huge stimulus bills to quickly bump up GDP to 2007 levels.

Yes you have great points, but we not only had negative savings forcing to borrow for our lifestyle, we borrowed from ourselves. people mortgaging their homes to buy all kinds of crap. That krugman should think we can return to this silly economy just mystifies me to no end. Does he really think we can have higher and higher mortgage values and cost and obligations forever? I guess he really does think this!

But the American people are smarter than that. They are retrenching paying down their debt and moving into smaller houses. This is a trend that may in fact grow. How Krugman hopes to change that thinking is no where to be seen.
