It's not really a rock and a hard place. Most Americans want out of these stupid wars. The GOP won't like it and will use it as an excuse to talk about how soft the Dems and Obama are and how they are putting the US in danger by not fighting those wars, but the far right has very little credibility anymore. Obama is simply bowing to this idea that he needs to prove to the GOP that he's tough. I expected real leadership and what I'm getting is someone who is afraid to stand up to the bullies in the US.

Just watch. When he announces his decision on Tuesday, no matter how eloquently he makes the case, his numbers will start falling further and will continue to fall for most of the rest of his first term in office. Bank on it.

Going all in on Afghanistan will paint Obama into a corner from which he will not be able to emerge. It's over now.

You have to hand it to the GOP. They played their shitty hand masterfully and the US will suffer for it, as Obama falls by his own and by the GOP's hands.
