Neither the One nor anyone else will be able to convince the Europeans to pour more money and any significant troop amounts into Afghanistan. You know why? Because it is a horrendously stupid idea and the Europeans aren't as stupid as we are in the US. We love to waste money on zero return ventures that cost a lot of lives, so that we can say we are tough and that we are saving the world.

Meanwhile, the most of the world laughs at us and parts of the world actively cheer as we destroy ourselves through our fiscal profligacy and war mongering.

Yes, Obama and the Democrats did pound Bush, deservedly as the idiot dragged us into a war with Iraq. I'm glad they did because I was pissed too.

If Obama has a hard time convincing Europe to help out in Afghanistan, it will be because Georgie poisoned their commitment to help us with anything, not because of any failure on Obama's part.
