Obama seems about to escalate the war in Afghanistan. Only one country in the world is more corrupt and that is Somolia. The guy is 83 and knows he does not have any time left to beat around the bush. He is telling what he sees hoping Obama and others will look at it more carefully. He also makes a point I can never make enough i.e. Every military and civilian adviser told LBJ to keep increasing troops in Viet Nam and all were wrong. Just as only two senators voted against the Tonkin Gulf resolution and even the dems voted to go into Iraq. Point being, the military has a terrible track record at predicting. There is clearly no way to win in Afghanistan. The only part of the country that wants us there is totaly corrupt and up to their necks in drugs and the rest want us out. And MCCrystal is corrupt (covered up Pat Tillman killing)and stupid. Nice hand Obama is playing!! >>)The American efforts to help the Karzai regime are doomed My quibble with this, although there is reason to think it is quite possibly how things will be... I been wondering lately - have there ever been so many knowers-of-the-future on the planet at the same time? all the dude needs to say is he doesn't like the situation as it is and there are problems with it and it might all go wrong and he wants out.
