"The secret is in the drums..." I believe you are on to something there JH. I once read in some Gothard material about a missionary sharing this story: It seems that a deputation team from overseas was visiting and helping the resident missionary station. They had a sound system and set up to play some tapes. One of the tapes was a Christian Rock type song with heavy drumming on it. As the story goes, the natives asked the missionaries what they were doing---they said the drumming was calling the demons to the service. I may have erred somewhat with how the story went, but in effect, Gothard had an entire section that told how the certain types of "beats" have a demonic and sensual "bite" in them. As usual, appreciate thy good postings and great common sense. I DO NOT ENJOY only post 1990 chorus' sung to the total exclusion of hymns in so many churches these days. When we were on the road for a couple of years, church after church had thrown out all the Wesley boys' hymns, etc. When we visit our 'kidz' church, we don't know 94.37 percent of the songs they are singing. Now that is one of the reasons I know I am OLD! J.

Jane, see ..i told you music is divisive.... actually the modern day version of drums.."is no where in the bible" but, neither is microphone, TV set, radio, etc. etc. I can also research allot of things and find that satan uses them. He's always copying God. This is an issue that we'll never know til Christ returns. until then. i let the fruit judge for itself. Next time you are in your Acura..think about how it's not in scripture and not only that....if it was made in Japan..it was made by somesome who worships demons <ggggg> I'm actually more concerned about a church that sits back on their pews and has no compassion for the lost but plenty of energy to debate cars, movies, drums, instruments, etc. etc. And, ministries that has a sole existance to just pup out books of gray issues that scripture is not clear on. There excuse is " We're on a mission directly from God and our Commision isn't Mat chap 28 but to write all these books against "whatever gray issue it is"...I call it "the white corpules minsitries" only it's lukemic white corpules<gg> see you'll in a couple of weeks.... I apoloize for ever bringing up music and the church God Bless..
