Thou art in great form tonight! And you have made some good points. Glad I got the "drum thing" right from someone that heard the story first-hand.
Does God approve of microphones? Wesley and Whitefield did what became known as field preaching in England to as many as 25,000 at a whack with no microphone. And thousands were converted.
Jesus used a boat and spoke to those on shore without a microphone---so maybe microphones are sinful. <ggggg>
Barry 'sez TV.s are sinful in his house, so 'thar you go. Acura's may be sinful but not Accord, since that is a biblical word, being together in one place and in "accord."
But don't you think that (as one church I know about personally) not singing any chorus'/songs that predate 1990 carries this music thing a bit far?
I belong to the Lawrence Welk, Mitch Miller, Bill Gaither, geritol generation.

Yes, I like the old-fashioned songs
That were once sung by the throngs
Amazing Grace
Had its place
And O for a thousand tongues belongs

But now that I am getting older
And the music becomes brashier & bolder
I suppose it's okay
This new-fashioned way
So I guess I'll bring some "up" from computer folder

Jack

Steve, dear, dear brother, nothing I say to other Christians is
about getting to heaven. We will probably all be there in
that day. Beyond that, having made a statement I believe
in, I thank the brothers--I seem to be the only sister, for
some strange reason--for listening to my thoughts, which
if you will think about it, were strictly limited to rock
bands, now re-named "Praise Teams", playing in churches
during the church service itself.

The truth is people love it and it's here to stay.

Taking it OUT of church and into the parks or civic halls is
an even better idea to me, and right now the Lord is
telling me to pray for the event that it will
bear much fruit, as we all should be praying for it.
