And I'll be left to wonder why Bush 1 did nothing to stabilize Afghanistan after the last Soviets left in February 1989, paving the way for the Taliban and AQ to set up shop. And why Bush 2 did nothing to stop OBL and AQ in 2001 despite many warnings from senior staff.

Why weren't the bad guys deterred by those tough alpha males? Why didn't we dial up some firepower and take them all out instead of being weak?

The historical record is so full of contradictions and failures by the neocons, proclaiming them our strength and salvation is a joke. But folks are welcome to worship at their altar if the testosterone-laden exercise gets them off.

And what, exactly, did W do after the "Bin Laden determined to attack US" briefing in August 2001? I think the line even then was that starting a war in Iraq was more important.
