Gov Huckabee did not release the man suspected of killing 4 law enforcement officers. He commuted the suspect's sentence in 2000 from 108 years to 47 years in prison.

As a center-right conservative, I'm a huge fan of Huckabee, but I think, he goofed mortally here.

Huckabee has a fundamental decency that would put him miles ahead of Obama in the next presidential race. And he would make an excellent candidate who will be more qualified to hold the office of president even after Obama has done so for four years.

I would be very surprised if this doesn't finish him, though.
