As the old joke goes, if a politician actually walked on water, his opponents would accuse him of not being able to swim.

When our public policy process is reduced to nothing but constant petty bickering, it's no wonder we don't reach any real solutions. It's an ugly process.

<<<The problem is that much of their commentary contains half-truths>>>

Half-truths? That is being generous.

But sometimes it is funny. Glenn Beck talking aout Abraham Lincoln and his inexperience in managing the Civil War and not listening to the Generals on the ground - is funny in an ironic sense.

Glenn Beck not withstanding, the problem is that this is turning out to be a zero sum game. One side gains and the other side loses.

It used to be where people had a sense of shame. They were aware they harbored views that were intellectually problematic. Now, ignorant views are being celebrated. I am stupid and I am proud of it. In fact, their dreams of majority status is achievable. It is scary
