back to Messiah... those closest to Jesus almost to man turned on him to an extent because they expected a dude with a sword who would banish the Romans. What they got was... just what he was, but he was pretty cool. might just be a myth, but there is a lot in the story to chew on.

Yes, I have said from the beginning Obama has a Messianic complex.....some politicians do. And Americans treat him accordingly.

You are correct that the jews were expecting a worldly Messiah that would at a minimum banish the Romans.

However those closest to Jesus (the disciples) did not turn on him other than Judas. All were martyred except John spreading their faith.
