I think Obama misread the Afghanistan issue in that this war on terrorism is a police issue and not a military one. If he agrees that it is a police issue then we need to increase ground intelligence and noy military boots on the ground. Once we locate the ring leaders of the terrorist groups then we could use the drones to kill them. I am sure that if he had approached it that way then he would get more support from our allies.

It looks like he dropped the health care issue and has left it to Reed to steer it in the Senate. The power of the Presidency to reign in the Dems far exceeds that of the Senate leader. I have noticed that in the past week, he has made himself scarce on the health care issues because his time is being taken up by the Afghan and jobs issue. The jobs number out today is better than expected. But it may be skewed because of seasonal hiring. I hope that is not the case. But he needs to keep his focus on job creation subsequent to the conclusion of the jobs summit.
