How fun... the double pleasure of a snow day out of school and their first time romping in it.

And staying in and making chili... that should be an event, also.

We had a rare snow when I was a lil one in Dallas. great fun. But when we got to Midland and had a rare flood, that was even more exciting. kept after school since no way out and our teacher finished reading "Old Yeller" to us, and one kid's dad came and got her in a plane with water thingies on the bottom. and then we went floating down the main street the next day on whatever we could find to be on. In Bakersfield it was fog days. In L.A.... well, Los Angeles fails on days off for weather.

Still a few flakes falling at 4:30 and Channel 11 has preempted Oprah for extended news coverage of "Houston's historic winter storm of 2009". I can imagine there are some unhappy Oprah viewers out there. <g>

Keeping up with the weather channel and now suggests it will stop about four this afternoon.
