I don't consider needlessly hindering progress to be "good for humanity."

Though we as a nation could stand to drive less and walk more, there will be hell to pay for any politician that tries to force said lifestyle upon us. Especially when said politicians never practice what they preach.

Of course, the rest of the world would love to impose carbon restrictions on America for no other reason than their resentment of America's wealth.

But none of this really matters to the real travesty here. Science has been turned into politics, and the truth is a casualty. If that doesn't bother you, well then it should.
