It looks like we'll be getting a break come Thursday. I dragged out the heavy duty down comforter yesterday and we were really toasty last night. We have one of those heated mattress pad covers, and with that and the comforter we slept like babies.

Our furnace is doing fine, but it has been 2 years since we had it inspected. Prolly better do that next Summer just to make sure it is all good. I believe we are supposed to change the ultra violet bulbs out every 5 yrs. It's time!

Your thermostat can be set to allow the furnace to run longer before it shuts down upon reaching temperature.

Also, the fan speed can be set faster to help circulate hot air for a more evenly distributed heat.

A 7 year old furnace, assuming sufficient BTU output should work fine.
