2% is that ALL! Shoot that would be a dream come true in my neck of the woods to.

What they really get us on is those levies every two years! Somehow it's always scheduled for a vote during an off year, hmmmmmm, I wonder why??

They should pass a national law which would allow only 1 day every 2 years for people to vote on tax raises. And make it a Sunday when people can go. This way they won't sneak them in during off election cycles when hardly anyone is looking.

Michael

I just want our neighbors to pay more. You have to realize we are surrouned by older people who pay 2% of 50 or 60K while we pay 2% of 270K. I don't like unfairness, unless it benefits me of course, and this doesn't. So I'd rather pay more and see my neighbors suffer. It would be worth it to me. Also, because of Prop 13, the divorced twit who owns the house next door would never consider selling and instead rents her house to our neighbors from hell. They could never afford to live here if they had to buy. Before them we had even worse renters. I would imagine Jarvis and Gann dead, but I think they already are.

penni - if you wish to compare Texas and California tax rates, go ahead!

Not everything is as big as a corsage in Texas.

Oh, and do be sure to include your income tax rates in the calculation.
