Hawk, I think it's in our national interest to try and secure what's needed for our country. What I don't believe for one minute is the b.s. that we're over there because the mountain men of Balochistan want to come over to the USA.

I think we have learned one thing from the Chinese. Wherever they've gone, they have helped build the infrastructure of a country, roads, schools, hospitals etc.....not by military might and the countries in M.E and Eurasia, sure as heck like them better than us.

Obama may have gotten the picture, like a light bulb popping in his head, we have to go in and try to "like" the people there and "help" them, not blast them to smitthereens. If we work with the tribal leaders, we have a chance, if we try to drone them out -- we'll end up like the Russians. Military might is not the answer, it may be part of it, but the bigger part is trying to give the indigenous people a fair exchange for their resources. Then, and only then will we win.

So.. do you think we should just "bow out" and let the Chinese and Russians dominate the region?

If so, where would you suggest we actually make a stand?

I get it now, it is a pissing contest. We are not there to liberate women from the burka or get OBL.
