Well.. I guess since you're excusing China's support for dictatorships, there's nothing wrong with the US doing the same, right?

What you should be understanding is that China's current gov't structure is more Fascist than Maoist. They are using capitalism as a TOOL to further the aims of the state.

They don't particularly car about the people, or the environment in those countries. Hell, they haven't much cared about the environment in THEIR OWN country for many years. Only now is it becoming unavoidable to ignore.

If they're willing to put melamine in their milk, ship toys containing lead paint, and sulphur in their drywall, why would you think their standards would be any better for the Africans?

I hope to see China become more economically and environmentally responsible, just as we have been endeavoring to do. But I'm not counting on it anytime soon.
