Well.. I guess since you're excusing China's support for dictatorships, there's nothing wrong with the US doing the same, right?
It is the other way around. We have been doing it way before the Chinese.

Sorry for double posting.
If they're willing to put melamine in their milk, ship toys containing lead paint, and sulphur in their drywall, why would you think their standards would be any better for the Africans?
Hmm interesting, extremely interesting, we still manufacture DDT and sell it to other countries, yet it is illegal to sell it in America.

I personally will not shop at Walmart. I try as much as I can not to buy foreign made good especially Chinese goods, it is hard as hell. I try as much as possible to buy made in USA or North America. I was frigging shocked the other day to learn that when you buy apple Juice thinking and it is written on the label made in New York, USA is actually packaged in NY the juice itself imported from China.

Bottom line the Chinese are not to blame, we have only ourselves to blame. We opt to buy cheap stuff and they are willing to sell it to us. With those cheap stuff there is a greater cost, which is quality of the goods, our jobs and our standard of living.

Hawk, I could care less about China or anyone else. I just believe that the US should not be an interventionist country. We have over 200 military bases all over the world. Bring them home and generate domestic prosperity. We are over stretched with out commitments around the world and our own people are lacking desperately. You and everyone else can argue on this board back and forth, I think with our Afghan/Pak buildup, we are going the way of Vietnam, slow bleeding of men and resources and eventually we will leave with empty gains. Hope I am wrong but I do believe the same as former Sen. McGovern.
