S2,

got a Droid two weeks ago - productive little bugger - better than the b-berry I had for a long time....like the iPhone, tons of fun apps (that I don't need). I can remember schlepping through airports with my Skytel Pager, Nokia phone (size of a loaf of banana bread), and my laptop that I could hook up at the local airline club. We thought that was cutting edge.....wonder what I did with my slide rule?

I use all three (droid, crackberry and iphone). Android is very good, but doesn't yet have the fit and polish of Apple. Industrial design is Apple's strength, it will be interesting if Google can complete in that dimension or not. Meanwhile crackberry still seems to own its corporate space. Apple is nibbling, but hasn't cracked it yet.

Medium term I think those who should be most worried by Google's move are the 2nd tier players in the market, such as Palm, Microsoft etc. This is going to hurt.
