Well you did bring up the subject, turns out [thanks to SS' detective work, or paying of attention, whichever ... often it helps to flip back through post history to get a sense of perspective before mouthing it up, on the other hand a great deal of zippy stuff wouldn't get posted if people did that too much]

You brought it up in re the perennial Nature/nurture question, though, and yes the latter gets way too little credit ... Mq always on about DNA, and for sure it's important, we wouldn't get far without at least a bit of it, still there's quite a variety available and i think some of the bargain brands present compelling value at these price levels

More to the point however - what is it about this crew that leads a major slice of comment always in the direction of gratuitous nationalistic slur? ... could it be the brasilian influence, that fear of the broad, the diverse, the civilised? ... i wonder what it is about those people that compels them to worship at the altar of narrowness -

'other little tidbits such as most ... in Brazil are narrow'

We are three agreed in that case: <
"hard to let completely twisted propaganda just lie there stinking"

My sentiments exactly, Marcos.

The Arabs were so lucky to have swarms of Jews move into the neighbourhood. The Sunnis might be very grateful when the Israelis ensure the Shiite Iranians don't get a chance to nuke their Sunni neighbours.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. In the natural world, an animal being attacked squeals, shrieks or otherwise kicks up a commotion. It's not that the noise will scare the attacker or as an existential complaint so much as a call to larger predators who might be in the vicinity such as a dog who will think, "Hmmm, that sounds like a bird being attacked. I wonder if it's cat doing the attacking. I'll quickly go and have a look while it's otherwise occupied."

If we could get them to leave their tribal jihads behind in the atavistic barbarian age from whence they arose, and roll out fibre and install CDMA/OFDM/wifi mobile cyberspace, the new age would dawn.
