While it's pretty up here in the Winter I would shoot for October and the leafs changing colors. It's really quite spectacular then. We have such a diverse forest with the variety of trees that we really get some color. Also winter you can really get some extended ugliness. Keep in mind I'm not a photographer but here is a look. Forgive the over exposure. I learned early am of a bright day isn't real good photography weather:) Also a new camera and a no good operator.
