I took that to include the whole range of Beck-Palin-Armey-Tea Party ranters, whose lists of apocalyptic insults are very, very long for 2009. I agree that list is very, very long as is the list of their counterparts on the other side. But I seriously doubt the author has any influence on any of those folks. But the implication that a couple of evil Dems are responsible for undermining them He clearly made the point that he was using those examples because they are the examples du jour, not because they are unique to one side. You cannot reasonably find the implication you found in that. Doing so would be a violation of his proposed standards about giving folks the benefit of the doubt. The sewer that American politics has become this year is indeed tragic because... I find it tragic, period. However, if it stops that monstrosity currently in Congress, I will shed one fewer tear over the tragedy.
