I was told blackjack by a casino manager. I figured he knew what he was talking about.

>> I thought craps had the best odds...

Limited craps plays do offer the best odds other than select, hard to find video poker which can have positive expectations. Video poker with a positive expectation of under 1% is available but you can't get enough play-through to make any money on them.

A good card counter playing 21 can yield about 2% using aggressive playing techniques. But those techniques will get you ejected from most casinos if you're playing enough to make any real money on them. They'll tolerate it with bets up to $100, but if you're betting $500 or $1000 or more, they'll kick you out before you get good and started unless you are VERY good at disguising your play.

Over the last few years most casinos have changed their single deck games to pay only 6/5 on a natural 21 rather than 3/2. This destroys the game and makes it almost unbeatable. 3/2 blackjack can have a house edge of 0.2%; with 6/5 it goes to 1.59%. Most of the 6/8 deckers I've seen are still 3/2 but these games are very difficult to beat with card counting because of the cut card placement.
