you said it would cause higher taxes if the 90 year old had the operation, thus agreeing with rationing

As for your "thus," stating that without rationing taxes would be higher does not suggest in any way agreement or disagreement with rationing. It's simply stating a fact. I can't imagine how you might connect those dots and infer agreement.

That said, I don't disagree with rationing. Disagreeing with rationing is like disagreeing with rain--it happens, has always happened, and will continue to happen anyway so disagreement is irrelevant. The only question is degree.

I will infer from your hostility to rationing that you either don't understand it or that you don't pay much in the way of federal income tax. Otherwise you'd be including that cost in your calculus one way or another.

which would be a death sentence for the 90 year old

That's nonsense. My father died four years after his heart valve diagnosis at ninety. Of prostate cancer. Not having the surgery didn't affect his life expectancy one bit.

Further, just because Medicare doesn't pay for a surgery doesn't mean the surgery doesn't happen.

And further still, the surgery itself is as likely to kill a ninety something as not having it. (Which is why they don't often do it and why that would be a prime target for a "death panel.")

So it's not necessarily or even likely a death sentence.

Just wait you'll see Palin was correct

Correct about what? That we have and will continue to have rationing? There's no question about that. Palin would have to be pretty stupid to think that she was the one who discovered some hidden truth. Everyone with half a brain knows that. Next thing you know you'll be claiming she invented rain...

ego 'death panel'

You still haven't made a case for that label. And I sure haven't posted anything to suggest that I accede to the label. So lose the gotcha...
