We had a wonderful day and night with our kids yesterday. First son and girlfriend showed up at 1 with some exciting news........they are now officially engaged. He popped the question on one knee in front of the Christmas tree yesterday morning.

Isn't that romantic!

I guess she cried through her yes tears and they were both just on seventh heaven all day. They brought a very nice bottle of champagne with them and the four of us were obligated to finish it........which wasn't hard considering all of the toasts.

Youngest son, wife and grandson showed up around 2 and then it really got noisy. I had planned on serving dinner at 5:30, but the roast was done by 4:30, so after getting everything warmed up and cooked, we sat down to eat at 5. It really is hard to beat a prime rib roast. I served it medium rare along with yorkshire pudding, spinach casserole and horseradish sauce. We had KLPs apple dumplings with vanilla ice cream for dessert and I have never heard more praise for a dessert than I did for that one. The boys said it was the best dessert I've ever made and their ladies want the recipe.

Thanks for posting it KLP.

We were going to go skiing this morning, but changed our minds after looking on line and seeing it was just 9 degrees on the mt, so...............we went to see Avatar in 3D at noon instead. If you can get past the politics.............it really was pretty darned good. I'm not going to go out and buy it or anything, but I'd recommend it if you want to be entertained.

I got a Droid for Christmas. I think it's going to take me a week to figure it out. VZ has free classes at our local store every Sunday morning at 9. I'm going to take it this Sunday if I haven't figured everything out by then.

Hope all of the GITS had their Christmas dreams answered.
