Hmm. That's actually a pretty insightful post. Every new law is really another constraint, unless it overturns a past law. Every incremental law can be viewed as more government, which in general is not a good thing.

However, not all laws are bad. Mostly, what's wrong with our legislative branch is that we've asked lawyers to solve all of this nation's problems. Lawyers aren't experts on enough, nor creative enough, nor disruptive enough, to find the real breakthrough solutions. That could be one explanation of why our government is now crumbling under its own weight.

One of the things I always agreed with the GOP on was less gov't is usually a good thing. It's also why I was glad the public option was dropped from the health care bill. Chalk that up to Lieberman.
