Except that alot of gun ownership isn't legal at all, is it? Don't know about "alot" but it's already illegal to own one illegally - not sure how making the legal ones illegal solves that problem. Sort of like making murder a crime, oh wait - it already is. What use would a citizen with good intent have for a machine gun Fun, self defense, militia - it's really not a valid question. Right's are not needs tested for a reason. You do know that a "legally" owned machine gun has never been used in a crime by the owner? So you're really barking up the wrong tree.
