But, even this were true, when Padilla was picked up, we used the extra-legal framework you are so fond of. There was no reason why Reid couldn't have been put into the same system well before he went to trial. But he wasn't. And you certainly didn't complain at the time.

It is totally disingenuous for the Left like Maddow and Olbermann to criticize the prior administration for something that happened in '01, while looking past Obama's blatant, repeated screwups in '09. It would be if Obama had screwed up. He hasn't.....except only in the fantasy world of wingers. BTW when Olbermann and Maddow are unhappy with Obama, they don't hide it....they let him know.......unlike the partisans on Fox who never complained about Bush until maybe the last year. I don't know how many more attacks it will take before you people realize that it is the Obama policy that is causing this problem. And there are many prominent Rs who don't get this, either. We are having these attacks because of Rs and their policies over the past 3-4 decades. You are our Taliban and frankly, I don't know what to do with you all. International Amnesty would be all over our butts if we tried genocide. Maddow criticized Cheney last night because Reid was handled as a "criminal" matter while Cheney criticized Obama for the same. But they is a key difference: When Reid was caught, we HAD no other facility for dealing with it. Over a period of years, GWB established excellent procedures that were proven. Obama promptly, and incompetently, discarded the experience and history of his predecessor, for essentially political reasons. It was a stupid move, but one he will never back up on, because he would have to admit Bush's superiority to his own, and he can't do that. Seriously, inode, calm yourself. What do you think is going to happen to the Nigerian? He is going to go through the American court system and get early release next year because of good behavior? Seriously, WTF do you think will happen to him? Is there any of you that doubt that he will be put in a cell and the key thrown away? That he will probably be murdered in prison by the other American inmates? Stop with the partisan politics....I am not impressed.
