Hubris have you done an average time measurement for each rise looks to be 4-5 weeks? Would you say that is a rough rule of thumb? Tom

hubris, Excellent chart and ideas. I have been doing something like this for the better part of the past two years. And, the absolute return can be much higher if you put on leverage at the right time (something I do not recommend except at the extreme end of the range). My return might have hit your annual number if not for Paulson announcing late last summer that he had "discovered" gold. I play it short and long, and I was short then. Great pain and it really dented the return for the year. I might have learned my lesson on shorting mining stocks during a bull market. Thanks TH
