I wouldn't say "age better", but rather age more slowly. Whether that is good or not depends on the age of the bottle and your perspective.

Bottom line here, of course, is that no wine is actually worth $6000 in terms of the liquid in the bottle, so the price per volume has more to do with collector's issues. Someone might pay a premium for a really large bottle because it is a rarity. In this case, though, a mere magnum is probably not that rare and is certainly harder to store.
