Interesting thought. Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs seems to point to the need for us to address health care, so that our population can work it's way up the chain to self-actualization, which includes being a net productive member of our society and economy. If someone is mired in the struggle at the bottom two foundations, then they aren't really net producers to our society. For example, I just watched the Soloist. This guy was a musical genius, but was never treated for schizophrenia, so he ended up homeless and not really adding to society for decades. What a colossal waste of talent.

In that context, it seems that health care is something that our country should focus on in order to unleash human potential.

FREE health care was never a right ... until now.
