I have an irrational fear of flying. I'm afraid the plane won't stay up- but I know it's irrational, and I fly anyway. People who let their irrational fears control them are really limiting their lives. Sucks for them. Leaves more room on the plane for you and me though :-)

I don't know that there is a SAFE way to travel anymore.

The numbers of persons using cell phones on the highways is disturbing. I can always tell who is because of their slowing down, speeding up, going to the left or right but not keeping in a steady line.

It's usually verified when I pass them... They are hideously dangerous imho.

A cruise ship has not been hit yet but I think it is coming. So there is fear on a cruise although their security... the last time I was on one was very thoroughly. One did not get back on the ship without an ID containing a picture... which had to be verified by sliding it under a scanner.

I guess hiking is the best way to go. It's something I like to do and did a great deal before the automobile became master.

We walked a half mile to school. Home at lunch the same distance and then back after lunch and home in the afternoon.

No school buses or crossing guards.

It's difficult to know what is truly safe anymore but I don't really trust the airlines after this latest incidence.
They really were terribly irresponsible.
