I think it is very much in our nation's interest to start educating Americans as to the need to stop their gluttonous behavior and start exercising more or face discriminatory health care pricing.

I have no problem with some health education, just as government tries to encourage people to stop smoking. But you suggested regulation, and that's a different thing.

You want free markets? I do too. So let's let health insurance companies have tiered pricing based on your BMI, cholesterol, and other risk category statistics

That's what we do now, that you and Obama are changing. You can't have it both ways; either you have pre-existing conditions or you don't. (This is the same thing Al has suggested; that you can't have pre-existing conditions, yet somehow, you ought to limit people's ability to buy insurance only when they get sick).

This more than anything is an indication of just how confused the Left is and how much you people don't understand the subject matter.

I think the government should levy extra taxes on companies that produce food that is bad for us. These companies encourage unhealthy eating, yet bear NONE of the costs to Americans.

Start with companies like:

candy companies
pastry companies
sugary drink companies
dessert companies
fried food companies
etc.

To some people, this food might as well be crack. Apply the proceeds to health care.

I heard an idea on NPR today to let food stamps count double for fruits and vegetables.
