Canada and Japan are two others who have left the fighting to everyone else in the last 60 years. But naming other countries that aren't as warlike as us is misleading. The US underwrites the entire world's security. As such, there are many countries that are free riding. My proposal is for us to pull back a little and force the free riders to pay their share. But that requires a paradigm shift in this country that means going up against the military-industrial complex. That's a really hard thing to accomplish.
