You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him DRINK the water.

Case-in-point: 2009 saw the Mega-sized, "too-big-to-fail" banks, the bailout recipients, record their single most PROFITABLE YEAR in the last 50 years.

Yet they are *not* lending to business much to date. (Lending has fallen off of a cliff, and it remains down at the bottom of the canyon.)

And still they are paying the *largest bonuses* in their entire history to executives.

So don't tell me that they can't pay the taxpayers back... or that if they do it will 'stop lending' 'cause I DON'T BUY IT. Not a lick of it.

All they would have to do to cover the whole thing ('cause it's stretched out over many years) is just *slightly* reduce the elephant sized bonus payments (bonuses earned, not because of profits on 'lending'... but because they are playing with the house's money and there is no way for them to lose under those conditions).
