Of course, I understand that.

But if the GOP really cared about fiscal restraint, then why did Bush pass two tax cuts and an increase to one of those entitlements you blather about. He passed the Medicare prescription drug plan which added to our deficits. Not only that but he had the opportunity to fix SS with his GOP majorities in both houses in 2004, but he preferred to play more war games in the Middle East rather than do something about our long term fiscal issues. Bush was a buffoon.

Will the Dems fix our fiscal issues? I doubt it. But neither will the GOP. At least the Dems think about paying for the programs they propose. The GOP just had 8 years spending whatever amounts of money they wanted without one thought to how to pay for it.
