As I pointed out, the scale is different. And you don't think scale makes a difference and should be considered as an important factor? Is this like your statement that there is no correlation between lifespan longevity and quality of health care? But the issues blocking relief are far more similar between NOLA and HAITI than they are between any hurricane and NOLA. Yes, there are similar problems of access. And in the case of Haiti, there is the added problem of distance. And yet Americans and American relief are on the ground and providing assistance to the Haitian people. They have been there since Thursday, two days after the quake hit. In contrast, two days after the hurricane in NOLA, the flood waters were rising and Bush was doing an fly over on AF I. Even you, with your diminished capacities to think because of your ideology and partisanship, should see there is a significant difference in the response. And let me add, the American response is not perfect......there should be more security on the ground by now to prevent the inevitable looting but once again, the US military seems to be the weak teat in this process. In fact retired General Honoré was furious last nite on CNN because they are taking so long to get a full contingency on the ground. NOLA was never about the hurricane. The hurricane was merely the trigger for the REAL disaster, the flood. Which I tried to explain to you people at the time. You don't get it. I am well aware that flooding made it worse for the residents of the city but flooding did not prevent relief workers from getting there. In fact, reporters were going in and out of the city on a regular basis inspite of the flooding. The flooding was not the problem. The problem was a lack of coordination and organization or did you forget that badly needed ice for NOLA and MISS was sent to ID and MD by mistake.....that the only medical supplies were on a slow boat from NC....that FEMA trailers were sitting rotting in a field in Arkansas. Mr. Bush's weak response brought down your party. When are you going to put it all together.
