I respectfully disagree with your statement. This was admittedly a minor election but was highly significant for several reasons:

1. A state that has historically been a bastion for Democrats turned on them and voted Republican. Since Obama campaigned personally for Coakley and since there really wasn't a smear campaign for her, the loss cannot be blamed on her... or him. It was a direct statement about what people think about the Democratic party, and even the more honest Democrats are being forced to admit it.

2. More importantly, this single change of one party seat in the Senate removed the stranglehold the Democrats had on the Senate. The Republicans can now filibuster. The landscape has changed, and just in time to prevent a truly terrible bill from passing as is. I am reading this evening that the Democrats are going to back off on their $1 TRILLION health care bill, and that decision is a direct result of the voters smacking them down.

Comments of the last 24 hours by Queen Pelosi indicate she DEFINITELY needs to be replaced.
