I want to see demonstrable intelligence (having nothing to do with Alma Mater or GPA) - about domestic, constitutional and international issues, quick wits and strength for a start.

Every public comment and tweet regarding policy has been on the money since resigning. That is intelligence. She has handled all the insane attacks against her and her family with great strength. Obama would have had a breakdown by now if someone said some of these things about him.

You must have missed the several hour interview with Greta which she conducted while doing her daily routine. Not only does she not need a teleprompter, but can multi-task. Obama can barely utter a coherent thought not written down before hand.

I don't care much for folksy. I had my fill of that with Jimmy Carter.

No problem with the Carter drawl, in fact I enjoy listening to southerners. Now his leadership skills were a different issue.

BTW, I have repeatedly stated that I am not promoting Palin for President. I only seek to support her against those who are wont to look down their nose because of her lack of (fill in the blank).

The media and the liberals have been notorious in criticizing her, her children, her husband, her governorship etc. etc.

Krauthammer bought into the no experience thing and is a good example of a media type who cannot get by her lack of something. He is the same guy who missed seeing Obama's limited experience and supported him over McCain and Palin.

My point was that some posters have responded in kind. So be it. It's a free country.

Just want to point out that Palin's manner of speaking - dropping the g's, and the run-on sentences, are all her own.

This is not an "Alaskan dialect".

As a former and now practicing journalist, I would think that she could clean that up to sound more professional, but if that's the knock on her, people simply aren't listening to the common sense that she has demonstrated and explains so often.

Obama, by comparison, is a speaking savant. Polished tones (thanks to cigarette smoking) and always careful to tell us what we already know so that we all nod our heads - but all the while demonstrating that his thoughts - as evidenced by his deeds and decisions -contain no common sense whatsoever.

Excellent post, but I might be the only one on this board who concurs.
