Not only does she not need a teleprompter, but can multi-task. Obama can barely utter a coherent thought not written down before hand. Nope, didn't miss it. Saw the whole thing. I even saw it more than once because it was one of those things that was run ad nauseam as a weekend/latenight 'filler'. And, agreed, she can go to the office, cook, keep an eye on the kids and talk at the same time - right up there with the best. I never said she wasn't smart, or folksy or able to connect with people. She'd make a great RNC Chair - or do a yeoman's job in a number of cabinet positions. Sue me. I just don't see her as Presidential material. Yes, I know she was governor - for a couple years - in Alaska. I get it .. big whoop. She has my respect, just not my vote. The list keeps getting longer of all these people that "she's better than". And, to me, that misses the point. [Yes, her voice is less tiresome than Barney's .. Yes, she speaks better without a teleprompter than Obama .. Yes .. she's had fewer facelifts than Pelosi.] I'd agree that she would do a better job than most all of the clowns mentioned. If "better than" is what I have to settle for in the end - then so be it. But for the moment, I'd rather focus on ferreting out the best. Some of you obviously believe that's Sarah .. and that's fine, 'all aboard the Sarah train' whoo hoo!! But don't punch my ticket. I'm waiting for the next one. (It's not like Sarah's goin' anywhere.) Karen asked a very good question .. "what Sally or Sam really is ready to subject their family to the onslaught????" And my answer is .. the one who's ready for the job. Yes, it's ugly & dirty & hard. And I'm sure that in his world, Unclewest would say that's what separates the men from the boys so to speak. And yes, Sarah is able to artfully deflect the bad press. But at times she's just another Obama but without the teleprompter (thankfully!) Her answers upon pointed, direct questioning by friendly (FOX) interviewers are often very empty and without real "substance". (And I'm talking about relatively basic things where she shouldn't need to consult an advisor before answering.) Yes, she does great with Greta .. and gets to be folksy with Sean & even brings Glenn to tears. But, under the gun, I see lots of choking and deflecting on some pretty serious issues and questions. I'm sure she could be trained and coached to do better - so could I. But there again is my point. The confidence & clarity you saw with Scott Brown as he was thrust onto the national stage. It's in his blood, it's under his skin and he was ready for the fight. And so was his family - those women are tough. If I were really interested in the results of grooming and coaching and tutoring - I've got Obama. I don't much care about what college they graduated from - or what local dialect they speak. I want the guy (or gal) that I would follow into a foxhole. And, sorry, it just ain't Sarah.
