The current version of health care is now all but officially dead. The final nails in the coffin were the Nebraska deal, and the unions exclusion of extra taxes, which were both perceived as unfair and the worst type of vote-buying, which in turn triggered the Mass revolt.

The Brown election was just the mechanism by which public anger was finally instrumental in building the coffin to bury it in.
