We've had this conversation before, but there is nothing like a soft shell crab sandwich. When I first started going back east, hubby would tell me there is no better seafood anywhere. Well........that was before he lived here..........and even he has to admit we have the best seafood anywhere here on the west coast. Especially in Alaska. I'll never forget going up the inside passage on one of my Dad's boats. When we got to Ketchican, Charlie the cook took three cases of Olympia beer and set off to find some fresh seafood. (we didn't know this at the time) He hit all of the commercial boats in the marina and came back with fresh King Crab, Dungeness Crab, Halibut, Cod and Salmon. He put on quite a feast that night. I don't think I've ever eaten so much seafood in one sitting. Oh my was it ever good. It helped that he was a master chef.

I think he's right about the cheese, and the crust is always so perfect too. I have never found a pizza here to compare, and always wished one of the master pizza chefs would migrate west.
