Since we have reached the tech development point where we can independently cast our vote on any issue at any time, we no longer need representatives to vote for us. The idea of a representative of multitudes of people receiving monetary incentives to cast their vote one way or another is archaic and as near to the definition of corruption as you can get in the practical sense. Political ideas should stand completely separate of monetary influence.
