jim, have you hear of dell splitting 3 to 1? or is this just wild rumors floating around? is there anyway to check it out?
thx....

i m getting tired of stupid rumors like dell not meeting earning
and a drop to 60 etc.

Lucy @ML already talked to cfo of dell and she upped the estimates
after talking to him.

Jim, you're probably right on X-term. However, besides the mom/pop
shops, most corporations will look for alternative to desk-top PC/WS
setup. You have duplicated hwr/sfw EVERYWHERE that a 'dump/smart'
terminal would do the job and let the servers handle the rest.

It may be slow in coming, but this got to make more sense for
corporation that have these 'upgrade pains' and duplicate
functions.

Ah! this leads to the corporate dream: 'down/right sizing' the
workforce. Since computer now do most of the work and
there is no hard feeling to 'right/down sizing' the computers,
this must be the next step they are going to do to improve the
bottom line.

Of course, one might argue, we don't have enough PC in the universe
YET. So demand will continue rise and upgrade will continue to rise.
