Maurice, Iran is quite a sophisticated country. More women attend universities there than men(nearly 70% of Iran's science and engineering students are women.) Women drive cars and are a big participant in the work force there. Also, many women participated in the 1979 Revolution! Furthermore Iranian women have a right vote. Iran manufactures so much, from automobiles, to defense weapons, to engineering feats, scientific advancements. It really doesn't need outside help, it is self=sustaining and why the West is so afraid of Iran. Now consider this: if Iran were given all the billions that Israel has been given for the last 60 years, WOW, there would be such advancements in civilization the likes unknown since Cyrus. Also, remember Israel had 60 years of help and handouts and protection from the West; Iran has only been percolating since the 1979 revolution, under a lot of obstacles and set backs. But it is entering the century as a regional player in the Middle East that has changed the landscape there.
