here's an email a buddy of mine sent to Valerie Jarret at the White House in response to an email from her.... Ms. Jarrett- My wife and I were unwavering supporters of candidate Obama: max $$ contributors in primaries and general, phone calls, rallies, flew at our own expense to Dayton OH to be poll watchers. I have never voted for a Republican in nearly 40 years as a registered voter, but I will consider it in 2010 and 2012. (A protest vote counts the same as one of actual support.) I hate everything that the Republicans stand for, but at least they stand for SOMETHING and are serious about GOVERNING. The proposed spending freeze is an abomination -- cynical politics, terrible policy, and probably devastating to the middle class—what's left of it—that it's supposed to pander to. I started out thinking that Barack Obama would be the next Lincoln or FDR, then it was Clinton, then Carter. He's down to Hoover and there's nowhere left to go. Double-dip recession = Single term President.
