The difference between polished stones and raw stones is the cost of man labor which IMHO is a constant in buying power.(or otherwise can be related as a store of value)

heirloom pieces from india that feature rough stones - they are inexpensive, nice to look at, have lots of raw but still precious gem stones, and when worn, go with any dress code,

The % of human labor invested in a high quality stone far outweighs the stone value (one carat of raw diamond is less than 10% of a finished 1 carat high quality polished diamond)and the aspect of supply /demand equation diminishes for same reason. As we discuss investment and store of value I would prefer polished stones instead of raw ones - besides as not being professional I will never know the relative value today or in the future - as for this (professional evaluation) you need a lifelong expertise

Gold down smacked down $46 today! Lots of nervous bugs out there, so maybe we're near capitulation. Per Aden Forecast (01/28/2010)...

"in a bull market the gold price will stay near or above the 65-week moving average now at $965".
