Commenting on political matters is way different from giving truckloads of money to political campaigns. These decisions equate money with free speech, that's one of the problems. It would be difficult to separate the two, but a constitutional amendment specifying that only individual human beings can contribute would go a long way toward clearing up the problem. I suppose GE or the ASPCA could give big bucks to an individual who might then make the contribution but I suspect there would be ways to limit that as well. Do you think it is healthy for large corporations or unions to run the country? That's essentially what we've had for a while.
